AUSSIE LOCKER™ INSTALLATION SUPPLEMENT FOR DANA 44 FRONT C-CLIP DIFFERENTIAL   Some Dodge and all Ford IFS DANA 44 Front Differential carriers use a C-Clip to retain an axle. The C-Clip is not retained in the Aussie Locker XD-14430 installation threfore a spring insert needs to be fitted in the outer end of the axle. Most of our customers use a car valve spring, but you may substitute any spring of comparable strength. The spring needs to be inserted in the inside of the outer yoke so it puts pressure against the inner end of the stub axle.     When properly assembled the axle will press against the cross shaft of the differential while the truck is on the ground as pressure is applied to the axle. The axle when assembled needs at least 1/4" o compression against the spring.
